US Logistics Solutions, Inc. is seeking a capable and career-oriented Assistant Terminal Manager to assist with leading our fast-paced operation responsible for all metrics, financial results, and development of personnel. The ideal candidate will assist with overseeing all activities of managers, supervisors, drivers, dockworkers, and other support personnel. He/she will provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations when necessary.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

• Ensure all work is performed according to approved procedures, standards, and specifications for all operations
• Accountable for adherence to budget and overall financial performance
• Responsible for employee recruiting, engagement, and retention
  • Focus on employee development: organic growth through cross-training
• Ensure workplace safety is a top priority
• Coordinate work assignments, monitor performance and provide training on relevant job duties
• Lead staff in their routine operations and be present on-site to address questions and issues as they arise
• Assist operations as necessary with ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Maintain a sound and efficient financial reporting process including journal entries, intercompany cost allocations, consolidations, etc.
• Ensure staff is trained and operationally effective. Promotes staff development with the ability to motivate and promote cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications:

• Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to drive performance of direct reports and lead a team
• Understand P&L statements and analyze areas for production improvement.
• Retail Pool/Transportation experience preferred
• Demonstrated operational management experience of minimum 15 person unit or larger required
• Knowledge of proper freight handling techniques
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA & safe package handling protocols
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
• Ability to provide structure and planning to meet the terminal and regional goals
• Must be flexible to work weekends and nights

Skills:

• The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
• BS/BA preferred, with a progressive career focus in facility/operations management.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
