Transportation Supervisor

Transportation Supervisor

Full Time

US Logistics Solutions is looking for a capable and dedicated individual to work as a Transportation Supervisor The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of driver functions along with other support personnel The supervisor will be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly truck maintenance In addition, the supervisor will provide driver training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary Previous experience with DOT rule and regulations is required

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure all work is performed according to USLS approved procedures, standards, and specifications
  • Directly supervise all activities of drivers and support personnel
  • Daily routing per customer delivery schedule and times for efficiency and cost reduction
  • Provide guidance to subordinates on goals and objectives on a weekly basis
  • Be responsible for driver development, accountability, coaching and counseling
  • Ensure proper maintenance of facility, forklift equipment, trailers, and handling supplies
  • Coordinate work assignments, monitor performance, and provide training on relevant job duties
  • Maintain facility appearance, condition, and security
  • Perform facility inspections
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have management experience (3+ years preferred), in a high-volume, fast distribution environment
  • Previous experience in routing and/or dispatching
  • Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive performance of direct reports and lead a team in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership ability
  • Must be 18 or older to qualify
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
  • Must be flexible to work Sunday-Thursday, Fridays during peak season
  • Forklift and general freight handling experience
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
  • Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Have strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
  • Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400
